KinderKonzert

William's pre-school went on a fun and educational field trip to Orchestra Hall today. They took part in the Kinderkonzert program that the Minnesota Orchestra puts on. The first part of the trip the class had some hands-on fun with the instruments. Each child was able to try out the instruments. They had a snare drum, a child's sized violin, a cello, and a rain stick (not pictured).

The second part of the trip the students got to sit on the stage at Orchestra Hall, while they learned about several of the ochestra instruments. Each musician explained how they played their instrument and played a song so that the kids could hear how the instrument sounded. Then all of the musicians played a piece that was composed to go along with the book, The Tin Forest. William really enjoyed the trip and has a new interest in music and musical instruments.
