Happy Birthday Bennett!

Happy Birthday to my baby who isn't much of a baby anymore. Today Bennett turned two years old. We aren't having his party until later this week due to schedules so today we did a few fun things. This afternoon he got a haircut and then we had a special dinner of Happy Meals from McDonald's while Tom was at class. Here are a few of his milestones at two years old.

1. His newest phrase is "No like it!." As in when you put on his jacket, hat, his sweater for church or put food on his plate he doesn't want he responds with "No like it!"

2. He clearly says "Yessss" and "No."

3. He loves music and sings along with many of the cds we listen to in the car. He especially likes the ABC song and sings pretty much all of the letters.

4. Animals are a favorite. He can identify pretty much any farm or zoo animal. My favorites are when he roars like a lion, screeches like a monkey, or moos like a cow.

5. While he isn't as neat of an eater as William was at this age. (William refused to eat his birthday cake at his second birthday with anything other than his fork.) He does not like to make a mess while eating. If he spills you will know by his declaration of "Mess!" with which you must proceed to clean it up so that he can continue eating.

6. He loves William immensely. Even though they have their moments where they do not get a long they do have their moments where they are the best of friends. Everyday we drop William off at pre-school he gives Bennett a hug and kiss good-bye. Today after William gave him a kiss he said "Hug" and wanted William to give him a hug too. His phrase when William is upset and crying is "William crying. Why William crying?"

7. It looks like he is not a morning person. While he doesn't sleep in really late, when I go to get him up he doesn't seem all that eager to get out of the crib. When you ask him if he wants to get up his response is "No."
