Attitude

For the last three weeks I have been thinking a lot about my previous post. When I wrote it I was very upset and not happy that things were not going well, or at least in my opinion. I was convicted that my attitude and outlook was not as it should be. I have been working on changing my attitude and having a more positive outlook. I can remember a writing about attitude by Charles Swindoll that my mother used to have stuck to the refrigerator when I was younger. I have decided that how my day goes and how I am feeling is largely due to my attitude. My new resolution is to go forth each day being mindful and aware of my attitude and work on keeping it where it should be.

ATTITUDE
by: Charles Swindoll

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.

Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home.

The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.

And so it is with you... we are in charge of our attitudes.

So true. It is amazing how in charge of our attitudes we are. I feel like it is a simple thing to monitor but a hard thing to conquer. Thanks for making me "THINK". I really appreciate it!
