Tom has wanted to go to Chicago and take the boys to a true outdoor baseball game at Wrigley Field. This year he got his wish and then some. When looking at the tickets and games it just happened that the series with the Twins landed on a weekend and would probably work out for us to attend. So the day that single game tickets went onsale Tom was online as soon as possible and got us four tickets to the Friday game between the Twins and the Cubs.

We drove to Chicago on Thursday the 11th. The kids did great in the van and the drive wasn't bad until we hit Chicago rush hour traffic about 1-2 miles away from our hotel. We stayed near the airport and so we took the train into the city and then got a transfer to a city bus that took us right to Wrigley. It was so much easier than trying to drive and pay for parking. The game was great as the Twins won. I had a bit of a hard time adjusting to the low-tech field. (Hey I'm a girl who has only gone to sporting events in the Metrodome.) But it was truly fun to be outside and the weather was great.

The game was in the middle of the afternoon. Bennett took a short nap in Tom's arms while riding on the bus to the game. William said he was tired in the middle of the game and so I told him just to lay his head on Tom's legs and take a nap. So he did!

This was a fun family trip and is just the beginning of the adventures we are going to have with the boys. I can't wait to see where we go next on a road trip.
