Lunch with Grandma Janet

My mom is the head cook at a local elementary school. She is so great to the kids and parents of the school. She knows which kids have allergies, dietary restrictions, and even which kids can't eat certain foods for cultural reasons.

When we first moved back from California I would help her out with open house night and getting things ready for the year. Then when I subbed at the school while pregnant with William it was great to have her serving me hot lunch and getting to know the staff. I've continued going and seeing the teachers and staff and having lunch with my boys. We try to go a couple times during the year. The kids know exactly where Grandma keeps the treats. They like to head straight to the storage room to see what goodies they can get Grandma to give them. And of course like every other grandma she lets them have whatever they want.

We had lunch today with mom and the boys had fun. We were telling William how it will be like when he eats hot lunch at his new school next year. This will probably be one of the last times we will be going to eat lunch at Grandma's work as William will be in Kindergarten this fall. Maybe just Bennett and I will have to stop by for lunch once in a while.
William eating up his lunch. He will be a pro at his new school this Fall when he eats hot lunch.
