Not much to report about here on the blog except that we had a relaxing weekend enjoying the Fall and preparing for Winter. Here is a bit of what we did.
Friday: William didn't have pre-school since it was MEA weekend so we stayed home and got some things done around the house. We got the basement ready for me to have 9 ladies over from church to craft and scrapbook. The ladies started arriving around 6:30/7:00 and we got down to business. I didn't get many pages done as I was busy being a hostess but I at least took some time to work on my pages. One of these days I will get more than 2 pages done while I scrapbook.
Saturday: We went for breakfast at McDonald's since we were going over to my parents house for the day. It is amazing how well kids will eat pancaked at McDonald's. Almost better than when we go for cheeseburgers. Then we headed to my parents house. Our plan was for me and the kids to hang out at my parents while Tom helped some friends move into their new house nearby. However, they had already moved a lot of their furniture so Tom just ended up helping my dad and my friend's dad work on the plumbing. It was some good guy time for them. Since we were over on that side of town we took advantage of some free babysitting from Grandma and Grandpa. Tom and I went to see Fireproof. It was a great movie. Definitely one to go see with someone else. Then we went out to dinner at Red Lobster. Even though we had to wait 45 minutes for a table it was great to sit and eat without interruptions from kids and actually getting to have a full conversation.
Sunday: We stayed home from church since we were all feeling a bit under the weather. (Which was a good thing we did...see next post I will be posting.) We had a relaxing morning just taking our time getting up and getting ready. Tom mowed the grass, for hopefully one of the last times. After lunch we watched the first half of the Viking game on the DVR. At half-time we went downstairs in the basement and finished watching the game. I tried to scrapbook a bit more while Tom puttied all the nail holes in the large room. It was a good thing he did that as I don't think he would have been happy if he had sat and watched the whole game. After the game we went outside to work on the yard a bit before it gets too cold. We cut back all of the hostas and other plants, hung the bikes up in the garage, and brought the deck furniture into the garage. Then after dinner we went for a quick walk trying to enjoy the last few nice days of fall before it gets bitterly cold outside.
