First Steps

Our days of having a crawling baby are numbered. After being able to stand on his own for several seconds for the last few weeks William took his 'first steps' last night. I noticed on Monday that he would stand and then lunge toward things. For instance, he will stand at the coffee table and then turn and lunge to the couch or ottoman instead of getting down and crawling there. But last night as Tom and I were making dinner William was in the playroom playing and I watched him stand up and then take 3 small but definitely intentional steps. He did this a few more times during the evening with 2-3 steps always being the choice. He looks so intent while doing this and seems as though one of these times he will just walk across the room.
