A Pirate's Life for Me

William turned 5 years-old in February. What a milestone. I can hardly believe it. So to celebrate we had our first friend party. We invited 12 boys and 11 of them were able to be there. I tried to plan plenty of activities and things for the kids to do. Even with all of my planning the boys still got to just have fun and play.

We started planning William's party last summer when I thought I was going to have surgery this past fall. Then when I didn't have surgery it was great because we knew what we were going to do. We decided on a Pirates Who Don't Do Anything party. Which is great because our boys love pirates. Even Bennett says, "Argh, I pirate!"

Here's a quick recap of what we did. The boys got to decorate their own pirate hat, go on a treasure hunt through the house for gold coins, play pin the eye patch on Elliott, and a bean bag toss. For lunch we had octopus hotdogs, carrot sticks with dip, and apple slices with caramel. And the cake was a pirate ship cake which thanks to Tom worked out great.

It was pretty wild and crazy but William and all his friends had a blast. I was exhausted after but it was a good exhausted.
